During her 3 decades of experience in the financial industry, Andrea has held countless leadership roles within the Retail, Commercial and Wealth Banking arenas.
As Chair and Leader of the Caribbean Philanthropic Council for the past 5 years, Andrea has led an organization of dedicated individuals focusing on promoting health, wellness and philanthropy within the Canadian Caribbean community by hosting events that raise funds to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for Scarborough hospitals.
Andrea has been an active member of the Scarborough Business Association from its inception, bringing BMO Bank of Montreal in as a founding member. In 2017, she accepted the nomination to the SBA Board of Directors and was elected Vice President in 2018.
In November 2019, the SBA elected Andrea as President and chair. In her own inimitable fashion, Andrea will build on the good work of previous presidents, develop new ways to serve and increase membership, bring fledgling projects to fruition and create new initiatives. She is committed to helping the business community prosper by creating forums for networking, education and opportunity. The SBA is confident that Scarborough businesses will have no greater champion than Andrea Hazell.
Committed to doing her part to support and advocate for the Scarborough business community, Zuba is also a member of the Scarborough Community Renewal Organisation’s Economic Development Committee.
Shawn Allen founded Matrix Mortgage Global Canada’s Largest Brokerage Private Lending Brokerage in 2008. With a background in data base administration and marketing, Shawn has guided Matrix Mortgage Global to over $1.1B+ in funded volume to date and over 610% growth in the past five years, Matrix Mortgage Global is ranked on the 2018 GROWTH 500 list as one of the fastest growing companies in Canada. This success is shown by the numerous nominations for Broker of the Year (CMP). Shawn’s dedication to the industry has made him a major stakeholder in the Canadian Financing Landscape.
Keith Nugara was appointed Vice-President, Financial Services Market in January 2007. In this role, he was responsible for the growth and management of the Emergis’ bank-centric business in the financial services sector. He joined Emergis in 2001 and has since held various senior positions in the financial services group.
Mr. Nugara holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration from the University of Windsor. He received a Certificate for the completion of the Executive Leadership Program from the Rotman & INSEAD School of Business and completed the Harvard School of Business Executive Leadership Program. He has Co-chaired several United Way campaigns, TELUS Cares Events and ongoing JDRP Team Leader. He sits on the Board of the Providence Healthcare Foundation
Jamaal Myers is a solutions-driven legal professional with expertise in corporate law, governance and stakeholder management. He works at TD Bank as Legal Counsel and advises the bank on securities law, corporate governance and public disclosure. Before TD, Jamaal spent a year volunteering as a community organizer in Scarborough where he worked to improve the area's public transit network. Prior to this, he worked for 4.5 years as a corporate lawyer at two global law firms in New York City.
Jamaal currently serves as a director of Grace Foods Canada, a Caribbean based food manufacturer, and TAIBU, a community health center serving Malvern and Black Canadians living in the Greater Toronto Area. He received his BA from the University of Western Ontario, his MSc from the London School of Economics and his JD from New York University School of Law. He is a member in good standing of both the Ontario and New York bar associations.
Muhammad Saeed has been involved for over fifteen years in project management, group facilitations partnerships and community engagement. He has worked on different positions and has strong skills in proactively managing important and time sensitive projects, developing innovative solutions to critical problems, balancing stake holder’s expectations and working collaboratively with the team members for achievement of desired goals. He has Master’s in Public Administration and has certificates in project management, counseling and volunteer’s management. He has also served as a Board member of West Scarborough Community Legal Services. Currently he is working in areas of employment marketing and programs for youth.
