It’s summer, and Scarborough Business Association welcomes three new talents to join the team. These young future leaders bring their expertise and ideas to SBA.
“We’re thrilled by the opportunity to once again host a summer program and I know these young business leaders will do well,” said SBA president Peter Haggert. “ Come meet them at our upcoming barbecue!”
Here are the three SBA summer students.
Esther Adeagbo: Membership Coordinator
Esther is in her final year of studying at the University of Toronto’s Co-op Management program specializing in Strategic Management. In addition to her previous work experiences at the Ministry of Education and PenEquity Realty Corporation, this internship position will provide her the opportunity to connect with the businesses within the organization while giving back to the Scarborough community. As the membership coordinator, she hopes to refine the acquisition and renewal process of being a member and aid in the configuration of the membership technology platform.
Emily Chen: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Emily is an incoming 4th year marketing student at the University of Toronto. She always had an interest in business and this role as a marketing and communications coordinator at SBA would expand her horizons, exposing her to many different industries and business leaders.
Due to her marketing background, she has numerous ideas for reaching out to more business leaders in Scarborough and for improving SBA as a hub for business leaders and ideas. She plans on implementing these initiatives throughout her time as a summer intern.
Ahely Shemontee: Process Analyst
Ahely is a recent graduate from the Industrial Engineering program at the University of Toronto. She has extensive internship experience in the financial industry and the government sector. She values working in positions where she can contribute meaningfully.
Working with SBA this summer, she aims to bridge the gap between technology and SBA processes to create efficient procedures. She aims to utilize her creative thinking skills as well as previous technical experiences with process management.
