Ex-Raptor Coach Speaks on Leadership, Success

SBA/UTSC offer joint speaker/networking event on April 29

Scarborough Business Community members and the community are invited to a day of small business learning, at U of T’s Scarborough Campus, April 29.

Highlighting the day – known as Leader2Leader – will be a day-ending keynote speech by former Toronto Raptor coach Butch Carter followed by a Scarborough Business Association networking reception.

The Leader2Leader program is an annual UTSC day-long spring event offering seminars on a number of business topics, for students, alumni and the business community. It’s the first year UofT will hold a joint reception with SBA members.

“This is a great opportunity for our members to hear a great speaker and gather for a unique networking event. It’s a chance for U of T students to meet practising business professionals from the community as well,” says Marg Middleton, president of the SBA.

The entire Scarbrough Business community is encouraged to come to the networking session. The $30 admission actually allows participants to attend the whole day of sessions, which start in the morning with an address by Domenic Primucci, President of Pizza Nova and a much enjoyed speaker at a recent SBA breakfast.

Butch Carter is the co-founder of SuperCamps and President of the Canadian Basketball League. He has a long history of coaching and developing players on and off the court. As the head coach of the Toronto Raptors he coached and developed NBA superstars Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter.

Carter will speak on his road to success and provide keys to successful leadership.

SuperCamps and the Canadian Basketball League offer Basketball Camps, Basketball Clinics, and Basketball Skill Development Weekly Lessons.
